Take a beginner level hike at nearby Sleeping Giant State Park. An experienced guide will introduce you to native plants, trees and other sites along the way. Fee: $5 (plus $1 online processing fee), includes guided tour and round-trip CT Transit bus ticket. Meet at the corner of Whitney & Edwards to catch the 11:15am J4 bus. The J7 bus departs from Mt Carmel Ave to New Haven at 3:30pm.
If you plan to drive, meet at the park entrance (across from Quinnipiac University on Mt Carmel Avenue) at 11:50am. Parking costs $9; $15 for non-CT registered vehicles.
Wear comfortable walking/hiking shoes, clothes appropriate to the weather, and bring a bottle of water.
